Fragment 1: found together with 10 uninscribed pieces of a sarcophagus in souteast sector of the citadel of Chersonesos, in the area of the Roman "citadel," masonry of fortification wall ("by the house of Belozerov"). Fragment 2: next to the fortification wall by Tower XVII (Zeno's Tower). 

Find circumstances

Fragment 1 (the left) was found by M.I. Skubetov in 1907 ("by the house of Belozerov," НА НЗХТ, д. 36, л. 6, № 316). Fragment 2 (the right) was a random find in 1908 (no information in НА НЗХТ).

Translation

The name [- - -]ona my parents gave me to be called so. Twice nine years, a maiden, I had lived, but when the nineteenth year had gone round, [my mother buried me] having lit [the fire] with (her own) hands.
