Commentary
The inscription was delivered from Foros to a gymnasium in Simferopol. Latyshev used a transcription of Yu.A. Kulakovsky for the publication.
On the formula, see Introduction IV.4.E.a. Transformation of upsilon into the sound "i" took place in Byzantium no earlier than the VIIIth century (see Afinogenov 2003), and hence we can take that date as a terminus post quem for our inscription.
