Commentary

The burial vault was apparently filled in after the excavation. Except for reading non-Greek female names in both texts, no other possibility presents itself. Text 1 was inscribed over fresh plaster, while Text 2 - over dry plaster (Kostsyushko-Valyuzhinich 1906, 82–83, figs. 88, 89); in addition, in Text 2, alpha with straight crossbar is used (ср. V 6).
