Commentary

The photograph reproduced here is preserved at the Photo Archive of the Institute for History of Material Culture, Russian Academy of Sciences (О.90.5). The stone is marked with inventory number 142/А.

1-2. The name Euprepeios (here Euprepis) is attested once in Bosporus (CIRB 1077, from Hermonassa) and once in Christian epigraphy (Lefebvre 1907, № 504). On the transition of inflected forms ending in -ιος to those ending in -ις, see Tokhtasiev 2007.
