Translation

Fell asleep: a servant of God Michalis, son of Sat.ikel (?), in the year 6779 (?).

 

Commentary

In publishing the inscription, Latyshev relied on an estampage made by Skubetov.

2. The name Μιχαὴλ acquires the ending -ιος very early (cf. Bandy 1970, № 111, V–VIth century). In Crimea, it is also attested in V 33 and V 46 (in the form Michaelis).
