Translation
Here (?) lies (?) ktitor Io(annes)... and having left it completed, he hid with those far away, in the year 6980, on the 5th of September, Thursday.
Commentary
On the context of find, see Karaulov 1872, 312–313. Latyshev (1896, 79–80, № 71) did not offer a reading.
1. On the formula, see Introduction IV.3.F.d.
2. On the burial of a ktitor, see commentary to V 68.
3–4. A participle at the start of line 3 indicated some action of the deceased, most likely, either the construction or decoration of a church, which "he had left unfinished." It might have been during this reconstruction in the early 1470s that the building inscription of metropolitan Damianos (1427 C.E.) was incorporated into the floor of the basilica - V 241.
4–5.The conclusion of the formula is unique: it is possible that its rhetorical style was influenced by V 241 and V 243.
6-7. September 5, 1471 indeed fell on a Thursday.

Translation
Supplication of Kyriakos, the priest.
Commentary
Text 2 was cut by the same hand as Text 1.
1–2. This is a typical supplication, which suits the monument's location in the church (cf. Latyshev 1896, 66–67, № 61). On the formula, see Introduction IV.3.B.a.
3. On the name Kyriakos, see commentary to V 72.
4. The word hiereus in this case most likely indicates a priest rather than a bishop.
