Translation
Commentary
At least four names are inscribed in circular fashion on the interior surface and along the perimeter outlined by the line that matches the diameter of the base.
Quite likely, the alpha below omicron of [- -]δωρος is actually the beginning of the same name, either e.g. Apollodoros or Athenodoros, which spirals around. S.R. Tokhtasiev (“Граффити.” Борисфен-Березань. Начало античной эпохи в Северном Причерноморье. Каталог выставки. Государственный Эрмитаж, St. Petersburg, 2005, no. 265, p. 140) did consider this possibility, although did not reflect this in his edition; in the commentary, he proposes Achillodoros.
