Translation

[- - -] made [- - -] reciprocated and [- - -] having welcomed the blameless [- - -] and from private means [- - -] piously, purely and justly [- - -] for the sake of the love of honour [- - -]

Commentary

The text is so fragmentary that it is hard to be certain of its content, bu lines 5-7, listing the achievements of an honorand, allow us to surmise an honorific decree.

3. The verb may mean "to go up, to meet," or metaphorically, "to meet halfway, to agree," "to respond." Before the verb we have the ending of an adjective, e.g. ἐμπορικαῖς, ἀργυρικαῖς, βαρβαρικαῖς and so on.

6. Before the third adverb we expect the repetition of conjunction καί, which was most likely left out by the letter-cutter. The left half of the omega is clear on the stone.
